[12] According to Procopius, the Emperor Justinian I (527-565) sent, presumably in 531 AD, an envoy to the Ethiopians, requested the Ethiopians that they should buy silk from India (Ceylon) and sell it to the Romans, thus they would make a lot of money, while the Romans profit in only one way, namely that they would no longer be compelled to pay their money over to their enenmy (the Persians).
