bsp; Henan, China) Abstract: The system of field distribution is field regulation established in the period of Shangyang Law Reformation and it is inherited by Hart Dynasty. Anyway, the record of its details are never seen in history books. The Bamboo Book of discovered in Hart Dynasty tomb in Zhangjiashan (zhanjiashanhanmu zhujian ernianluling) retains the laws issued in the second year of Luhou's reign which prescribe the way to allocate fields and housing according to ranks and other status. And it shows the surprising amount of field that high - rank officials received, thus proving the fact that a large number of landlords having erected merits were cultivated. The law also proves that the system of field distribution is one of permanent possession which does not require the landlord to return. But in order to ensure the gain of tax, the government of Han Dynasty established strict measures to control the distributed fields and was in a position to intervene and regulate the redistribution of fields. Later on, with the social and economic development, the permanent field possession gave way to private ownership and led to the first climax of field amalgamation in the period of Emperor Hanwudi. So the system of field distribution was utterly destroyed. It remained so even when East Han Dynasty was founded. And the history entered the era when powerful landlord were in authority.
