【摘要】《子夜》是一部优秀的革命现实主义巨著，它标志着作者运用革命现实主义创作方法已进入成熟的阶段。在以剧烈阶级斗争为背景广泛反映社会生活的长篇创作中，《子夜》的成就是最突出的，它以惊人的艺术力量表现了30年代初期中国社会的各个阶级的矛盾与斗争，提出并回答当年最重要的社会问题，可以说《子夜》是我国无产阶级文学运动中出现的第一部成功的长篇小说，具有划时代的意义。这篇论文试从作品题材、结构、人物塑造、真实性和史诗性的创作几方面简单分析«子夜»的艺术特色。

         对于每一部文学作品，都有很多不乏合理性的解释，关键在于我们从何种角度去理解。我认为要理解茅盾在《子夜》创作中的风格转变及其艺术得失，必须要了解茅盾的文艺思想的变化。
