【英文摘要】The study of minority nationalities’ historiography,　 whichhas a long history in China, has been　one　of　the　importantbranches　of　Chinese　historiography.　 Since　the　 People’sRepublic of　China　was　established,　 the　investigation　ofMarxist minority nationalities’　historiography　has developedfor two steps: the beginning and development,　and　have　madeoutstanding　progresses　in　the　 fields　 of　 general　 andmonographic study. For minority nationalities’　historiography, the theoretical study is of promient realistic　significance. It reflected　several　positive　tendencies,　 such　as　theconstantly strengthened consciousness of the study,　 and　thedeeper explored idea of minority　nationalities’　history　andso on. All of them indicate the broad prospects of　the　studyof minority nationalities’ historiography.

这里说的中国民族史学研究，指的是史学史学科的一个重要分支；它所研究的对象是中国史学中的民族史学，包括少数民族史学及汉族史家的民族史撰述两个部分；其研究任务是探讨民族史学发展的过程、成就与规律。本文试就新中国成立50年来中国民族史学研究所取得的进展作一初步的回顾与分析，并就有些问题提出自己的认识。
 
一、中国民族史学研究的步履寻踪
 
    （一）历史上有关民族史学的撰述　民族史学在中国历史上产生很早，它与中国古代史学发展几乎同步而行。在以后的历史进程中，其主要表现在两个方面：一是汉族史家有关少数民族历史的记载；二是各少数民族在本民族文字产生或中原文明传入之后出现的记载自身历史的史籍。这两种形式的民
